I purchased a used 76 silverface recently and I was wondering what most of ya'll do with your master volume. I've noticed i get the best tone when i just jack it up to 10 and play with the other volume. what is the best way to go about ???? Thanks

You can physically remove it as well, but what you are doing is the best way. Turning the master volume all the way up essentially removes it from the circuit.

The metro amp's forum has extensive discussions about post phase inverter master volumes. Search for PPIMV. I converted a twin a while back. 10 bucks worth of parts if you buy the kit from meto. It's a pair of 2.2M resistors, a dual 250k pot and one sheilded wire. It works very well (like most things, in moderation).
