Hey,

I just bought a '73 blackfaced pro reverb which I will put in it's own head to drive a 2x12 JBL cab. But, I've never seen these types of speakers in old SF fenders before? Large square magnets? Could they be old eminence speakers? Sure are uuuuggggggly!

Thanks for your help!

Ha! That was my buddy Chad's amp! Small world. I can ask him for you. That's a great sounding amp, btw.

I just bought it from chad today. going to put the amp head section into it's own cab to power a 2x12 cab. I forgot to ask him what in the hell those speakers were.

They almost look too new and shinny to be original '73, but that could be the camera.

There is a 73 twin on eBay that has very similar speakers... Same magnet, but dark baskets. The seller claims them as Yamaha.

Chad sourced the code and discovered that they were made by CTS in 1972. They came with the amp when he bought it. He usually ran the amp with Jensens, which, along with JBLs, EVs and some Celestions, he prefers to those CTS speakers.

BTW, he mentioned you were doing a Jerrycaster build. Drop me a line if you want to have a look at my own little project, or have any questions or whatever. [email protected]
