Local Craigslist here in Portland has a Mcintosh 754 for sale. 100W stereo. Never heard of anyone on here using one of these. Thoughts?

alright, another PDX'er heard from! welcome... and (shameless plug)check out the Cats every 1st Thurs at Mt. Tabor Theater!https://www.facebook.com/catsunderthestars

I've never heard of the 754 model, but it seems awfully big-and-heavy, yet under-powered for a real gigging piece. Personally I think people get a little too hung up on having something with the name McIntosh on it (maybe it's my MacGregor ancestry...)

Heh, yeah, maybe you'll be able to melt someone's Face Off!

Besides the point now. I just bought a 73 pro reverb that I'm going to put into a head to run a 2x12 JBL cab. But, maybe someday. Just need a few more practices to get to face melting status!

Thanks for the input. I'm going to check you folks out next Thursday! I love the dead and I love the tabor theatre.
