My electronics knowledge is lacking to say the least.
My question is: Is it safe (for the speaker) to run an 8 ohm JBL K120 into a 15 watt Super Camp XD? I have been told that such a low wattage with blow the speaker. I have been playing it regularly for the past year with no problems. It does sound fantastic. Jerry in a box!! Very gig worthy. Should I be using a different ohm speaker (4 or 16)? Brad or Waldo's response would be gratefully appreciated.

You should use exactly whatever ohm load that the amp is rated for ... for 6V6 pair (power tubes) amp, I would expect that to rating be 8 ohm. Don't worry too much about the wattage- 15 watts won't endanger the speaker, but it might not sound like it would if it was receiving more output power (but probably better than the stock speaker).

From what I'm told, the problem with underpowering the speakers is more about solid state clipping is the danger with the uneven waves that can ruin a speaker.

Would an overdrive pedal be considered solid state clipping?
