I know Ive been posting a lot about this stuff recently, sorry if ive been bugging you. I've been looking all over the web for info. It seems a lot of people agree that mixing should be done with A.) definitely similar sensitivity ratings and B.) similar sounding speakers without major differences

I'm curious about mixing speakers- JBL "ish" speakers that is. Do any of you use other speakers in combination with jbl type speakers? If so, what do you like?

Given the above, I was thinking it might be cool to mix an aluminum dust cap with a paper or cloth surround cap. Anybody out there try this?

I'm mixing tone tubby hemp cones - one ceramic and one AlNiCo - not JBls but works for me. I can totally. Hear a difference going back and forth between them, and together they sound pretty cool - matched output and ohm ratings on both.
