Hey all, would adding mahogoney blocks into a trem cavity of a strat, add any noticeable difference in sustain? Just Curious.

I've done this with my Strat and PRS - just used a chunk off a pine 2x4. I didn't think it made a noticeable tone difference but you'd think that the increased connection berween bridge and body would do something. I doubt that a piece of wood that small would matter much whether it was mahogany or something else.

It will help the sustain, I've done it to 2 of mine in the past... I used maple, just to get the brightest/densist transfer I could... I'm sure mahogany will be fine.
