Does anyone know any good guitar techs?

I'm looking for a tech that i could send my guitar away to install the on board effects loop to my Carvin dc-145. I've contacted some local techs even one about an hour away from me, and it seems they always reply back to my emails but once I reply to them about installing the effects loop they stop replying altogether.. my neighbor told me that a guy at a local Samash is a really good tech and does it on the side, I went to his house and showed him my guitar and he was kind of baffled with the whole idea, he said he could probably do it but he sounded really unsure and I'd rather not have my guitar ruined by him... Would anyone know a good tech? I'll most likely need it routed to fit a battery compartment too..

I've heard good things about Mas Hino in NYC. I don't know if that's too far, but maybe he can steer you toward somebody in your area. I've not worked with him directly, but my luthier, Stephen Marchione, recommended him to a bunch of people when he moved from NY to Texas.

Good luck with your axe,

I emailed Mas Hino and he came back saying he can do it, thanks for giving me his info! I just need to give him a schematic and we're set!

and vwjodyme, he told me about 275$ he didn't tell me if that included the parts he needs.. but that should really only add like 10-20$ That price includes routing a battery compartment too.

Awesome! Thanks! Seems very reasonable
It was one of those things where i never really knew the ballpark for.

Do you still have the stock pups? as much as i like them I am considering making the move to super II's.

Yea still stock, I don't want to switch because i only play dead stuff on the side, I want to kind of make my own tone up, but when I need to pull off Jerry the Middle singlecoil does a great job!

Also if you ever decide on adding a GK-3 divided pickup contact me because it was a pain in the ass putting my on.. they don't fit on carvins so i had to remove the bridge pickup ring and redrill holes (in a spare pickup ring) to make it work,
