Ive been playing guitar now for over two years and Ive been wanting to expand my playing so I decided to start with my favorite song. I was watching Down Hill From Here today and I saw that Bob played the chords near the fifth or sixth fret, could tell me what chords they are and how to finger them. Thanks.

I'm not sure what fret Bobby plays it on, but I play the Em - G- Em on the 7th with these configurations:
E|--7--7---7--
B|--8--8---8--
G|--9--7---9--
D|--9--9---9--
A|--7--10--7--
E|--7--7---7--
Hope this is of some help.

Is it typical to play the sixth string in these chords or is that just for this song? I would normally play this as
E|--7--7---7--
B|--8--8---8--
G|--9--7---9--
D|--9--9---9--
A|--7--10--7--
E|------------

JS - the low E string is technically the 3rd so it would be okay but doesn't sound proper. I interpreted Amy's note as showing the barre.

Yes, I wasn't showing exactly how I play it, but the "shapes" of the chord formation that I use. I don't play the low E as I've removed it and given it to Keith Richards!

amy's definatly right, I've seen Bob play it like this more than once. A few times I've seen him spice it up a bit with a quick C accenting the Em
Em C Em G
E-7-7-7--8-7--7-7-7-7-
B-8-8-8--8-8--8-8-8-8-
G-9-9-9--9-9--7-7-7-7-
D-9-9-9-10-9--9-9-9-9-
A---------------------
e---------------------
though I have on one occation see him use these voicings
EADGBE
Em- xx5453
C- xx555x
G- xx5433
B- xx444x
A- xx7655
