Help me Wolf Strat my Strat!

Greetings!

Lets face it, the 73-75 Wolf tone was insane. I personally think its my favorit tone. I have a nice strat that currently has Custom Shop 54's and a Fishman powerbridge (piezo). I'm going to be making some changes to help get it closer to that 73 Wolf tone.

I found the following info on the 73 Wolf on Waldo's amazing website.

"Stock Fender Single Coils, Stock Strat Wiring with Military Spec'd Allen Bradley Potentiometers and Ceramic Capacitors, Military Spec'd "Raytheon" Knobs, and Onboard Alembic Blaster Preamp w/On-Off Switch(post volume control) "

Do I go with the Blaster or do I go with Waldo's buffer? There will not be an OBEL on the guitar.
Do the military spec'd parts contribute to the tone or is it a longevity move?

Thanks!

IMHO go with the Waldo, get an SMS and a Mac and you could play any guitar and get that tone! GGGs Keir you know this already! LOL!

I say go w/ The Blaster! Do something different from the Eagle! Strat w/ a blaster would be cool.

I use a heavily modded old strat with OBEL. I have used a stratoblaster, a blaster from Waldo and Waldo's buffer and I ultimately prefer Waldo's buffer. It gives me the most versatility. My 2 cents

If that's the tone you're after, have Waldo make you a blaster

Good stuff!

I do have Waldo's buffer in my Eagle guitar and it sounds awesome! I've been speaking with a luthier about building me a blaster and unique feature for my Eagle ( more to come).

I'm pretty sure the blaster just add's a bit of dirt and volume. I had an EMG pre-amp in my older Tiger modded Shecter that had a gain knob. You could add some good dirt with it.
