Clarence Clemons, the burly saxophone player who played a crucial role in shaping Bruce Springsteen's early sound, died on Saturday, six days after suffering a stroke at his Florida home. He was 69.

He also joined in for two tunes with Furthur in Boca Raton on April 6th. He was looking frail but still wailed away on that sax.

He will be sorely missed. Bruce and the E St. Band were/are still the best live act to ever come along. Saw them 5 or 6 times and each one was an event all to itself. Phish did this last night as a tribute:
