Hey! If there are any fans of the theatre who are going to be in NYC any time soon - a guy I did who was in a production of Hair that I played guitar in here in Blacksburg is in Phantom of the Opera (Raoul) on Broadway at the Majestic Theatre. Sean was awesome 12 years ago and I'm sure he's gotten even better since.

You have to know somebody to get Broadway gigs. You have to read well too.

Yeah, I'm sure, especially to get a major role like that - talent doesn't hurt either. He must have some connections. I know before Sean came to VT he did some kid acting in national commercials - another guy in that theatre company that I was in is bringing him to the area for a charity concert when Phantom comes to Lynchburg in May.

Acting is the toughest profession to succeed in. Besides talent and contacts, you have to have the right look. There are many starving,
talented actors out there.

That is the truth - my wife does a lot of local theater and it's pretty competitive to get gigs that pay nothing, the paying gigs gotta be brutal. There are a ton of super talented folks out there in that game. I played in some pit orchestras and directed a couple of times it a shitload of work to put a good show together. I can only imagine all the work that goes into one of these Broadway productions.
