you must really have to like listening to the same jazz song over and over again to memorize all those notes that seem to be improvisation, kinda like memorizing a Dark star note for note... still stellar finger wagging.

Yeah, I hear ya, Jonny! The thing is, these are 11 jazz 'heads' (head being the melody of the song) strung together, kinda like linking the main themes of Help>Scarlet>Est>Terrapin, etc...but in the jazz idiom....the improvisations begin after the 'head' is stated...hope that helps...

Here's one that I had forgotten about - Junior Brown. I've seen him a bunch and he never ceases to impress. Kind of insane but one helluva player.

I saw Junior Brown open for John Prine at the Tower Theatre when Prine was touring with full electric band, that dude can wail.
