alright im in. Lake Erie Lost Sailors. i really liked doing the live draft. a few brews and a few buds around made for an entertaining hour or so. looking forward to some friendly competition. i better brush up on the smack talk tho, im just not mean enough damn i love the west side of cleveland.

Anyhow, I skimmed a few of these posts. A lot of Eagles bashing, a lot of Eagles defending. Some sorry-ass Cowboy fans defending their team. Business as usual. :)

Anyhow, lessee--last year we had it on Foxsports.com (I don't remember who set that up). I didn't like that interface as much, but I did get used to it. The year before we had it on Yahoo (and I set it up). I liked Yahoo, but frankly it doesn't matter to me. I saw a mention of CBS sports as well.

I saw a message from mttourpro that he would be more than happy to relinquish control over to me. I'm fine with that if everyone else is.

I saw a mention of some fucked up system where you only play one person for one week in the entire season. That's fucked up--I don't like the idea of that.

I like the easy, traditional way--a user draft. If you can't make the draft, you can rank the players you want. We did this last year--I totally spaced on the draft last year, so all my players were auto-selected. And I still won, so don't think that's a hindrance.

I'd prefer to wait till closer to the actual season begins for the draft to happen. That way when Westbrook goes down in pre-season game 4 with a season-ending injury someone isn't totally screwed.

For a draft--how about Tuesday night, Sept. 2nd at 9pm EST? That gives me/us enough time to setup league, get people to sign up, get prizes worked out (if interested) and figure out a scoring system.

Ok Mr Straw---you are OFFICIALLY the Commish---my reign has ended. I'm in for the draft, in fact, that date/time is perfect for me. I'll delete the Yahoo! league.

That was my idea---if you think about it, given that I thought we'd only have say 4 players, it'
s a pretty cool idea IMHO.

I like this idea as well, 9 PM EST is 10 here and I get up for work at 3 AM, so I wouldn't be able to do a live draft at that time. If we have to go to another vender for that function then I'm for that too.
So the Yahoo league is going to be deleted, correct?

Doh, I mean't to say that the draft at 9 PM EST wouldn't get over til 10 CST. Based on the two hour timeline.

I already deleted the yahoo! league.

As for needing to go to another vendor for that function, I could easily be wrong, but based on what I read and tried to understand, I believe you can not set up Yahoo! for some people to live draft and others to pre-pick based on their rankings.
They give 3 choices and make you pick only one:
live draft, pre picked draft and put rosters in later draft.

So whats going on here JCK_strw? is there a new site we are using? the yahoo one is dead? (no pun intended) I'd like to get the league finalized so we are ready by draft day mwahahahhaha!

so are we playing at foxsportsnet now? if you can Jack_Straw, PM me the info on the league so I can join by draft day, which btw is perfect for me

I would be interested. I like to auto draft picks. My life is to unstable anymore. But it all sounds good.

In Yahoo team Managers can choose to Autopick if unavailable at the time of the live draft.

i am a west coast guy and i am not home from work by 9 eastern time on a tues.

but i have mondays off, so i would be game for the 1st at this time

Try CBSSportsline.com....VERY easy to use. Fair scoring, etc...just my .02.

Let's do it.

BTW - Tour Pro's suggestion of using one player once and that's it was a great idea - it causes one to be VERY cautious and have to think a whole lot more throughout the season. BUT, I agree that it's best suited for a VERY small league...3-6 people.
