D'OH... ya lost me completely right there. Mirror Pond is one of the blandest ales in the NW imho, a micro w/ a mass-produced taste. Deschutes has some really great beers (and good food) on tap in their brewpub in Bend, but as far as what makes it into their bottle sales they kinda bore me the way they break to the middle ground

See, that's what's great about beer...it makes people think! While I disagree with you , I was also wondering if you've tried any of the Ninkasi in Eugene and what you thought? New brewery with some tasty (and not-so-tasty) beers. Can't believe they named one Schwag!

Don't think I have tried any Ninkasi's yet although I have been seeing the name. How new are they? And are they in 6-pks or only tap? The hot up-and-comer here in P-town this year was H.U.B. or Hopworks Urban Brewery. Those taps have sprouted around the city pubs like...like...like mushrooms. And if I may tone down my rhetoric, I agree that Mirror Pond IS very drinkable and good, I used buy a lot of it about 7-8 years ago...I suppose its just not very exotic to me anymore.

It made it's appearance in Boulder a year or two ago, so it is relatively new to me. Likewise, I find that I have drank Colorado Microbrew to death, so I like the change.

Although, I have been enjoying Boulder Beer's "hazed and infused", and not just for the name and cool label.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.................BEER....Can't tell y'all what a great topic this is. I just got back to the States a couple of days ago and I can't get enough of good brews. I just tried Stone IPA the other day, very tasty. But my beer of choice in the house is Sierra. Or anything from Lagunitas, Anderson Valley, but really after 5 years in Mexico, I'm pretty much open to any style or brand. (except piss like Bud or Miller or Coors etc.) I just wanna drink good brew...

I dont know the Brewery but whoever makes Stone IPA, makes a Bitter Chocolate Oatmeal Stout which is just fantastic, wonderful. So delicious.

Other than that, Fat Tire, uhhhhhg, so good. Long Hammer IPA, Murphey's Irish Stout.

Stone IPA is from the Stone Brewery in San Diego, CA. They also make Arrogant Bastard - sickleberry. My favorite beer on the market. The Bitter Chocolate Oatmeal Stout is their 12th Anniversary beer. It's an ale brewed as a stout. I don't know what that means, it's just what I heard. Their 11th Anniversary was a KICK-ASS dark ale that was - far and away - the best beer I've ever had. Sickleberry doesn't even describe it.

I got to go with the Long Trail ale, the double bag, and the Long Trail IPA. I gotta represent VT.

The 420 IPA is also very good. I think its brewed in Portland, ME.

I've been a fan of LT since they ran the brewery out of the old canning factory in Bridgewater. I first experienced LT in 10/92 on a leaf peeping vacation to the Killington area (I rented a cabin from Tom O'Brien, name sake of their stout). The tasting room was wide enough for 2 bar stools and they served Brand X. I don't know what it turned into but I recall it was very enjoyable. It's a shame the tasting room has gotten so popular - it's almost impossible to get a table or seat at the bar after a day on the slopes.

My Home Brew of course. Been brewing for about 15 years now and have brewed nearly 130 different kinds. But, ya gotta come to KC to try some.
