I like the idea of sitting in with some other cats.
At the End of the Night Jam we all go nuts on Watchtower...
We need an M.C.

We could also have The Grateful Chef cook up some dankness, if he attends.

Some things to consider are:
- despite board location stats who are regular and would attend
- where we can have drummer, bassists and keys
- a venue who is fine with an open jam for many hours
Just my $.02

SS - I'm withya...can't just do it anywhere.
If you're gonna do a hippie festival, it's gotta be at a place that's had them already. There is a place in Pittsburgh (near Pittsburgh) called The Church Of Universal Love & Music (
http://www.ilovemusicchurch.com/ )....
They've had stuff like this before. Don't know if they pull "all-nighters" - and we'd definitely need a place that could handle it.
There's a festival in Pittsburgh (again, NEAR Pittsburgh) called JamBaLoosa (
www.jambaloosa.com ) and it's gonna be close to an "all-nighter" from what I understand (we're playing it, btw).

So are we just talking about a big jam, or are all of our bands actually going to play individual sets? There is a place in Salem Missouri, where they hold Schwagstocks, but i think it would be too expensive for all of us.

BOTH....every band gets a set and we have HUGE jams, as well!!!

OR similarly....
We plan around band & pick-up band jams.
Example:
3-4 TheCause
4-5 TheCause with subs: Strummin on rhythm, Tigerstrat on lead
5-6 Band2
6-7 Band2 with subs....
That would be my suggestion!

Yeah, SS - that's what I'm talkin' about. You have a band up there, say Ramblin' Rose from 1-3. Then from 3-5, Ramblin' Rose has SEVERAL guests SIT IN with them (not subs) that don't have bands...like 2 guys on guitar come up for 3-4 songs, then they split and 2-3 other folks come up to join in for the next 3-4 songs, etc. Every band gets 2 hr slot just for them, then a 2 hr slot with several guests.
Hard to say exactly, until you see how many bands / how many solo performers we'd get.
But yeah, that's the ticket!!
ALSO, have time allotted for JAM SESSIONS (late, late night??) where 2 cats from one band, one cat from another, another from another...etc...
Then cap off the whole thing with some big sick-ass thing with a TON of people onstage as the final song.

...and FYI....it's theCAUSE
Not TheCause
or
The Cause
or
the CaUsE
or
the Coz (we're not a Bill Cosby cover band)
Our bassist gets goofy on that, especially!!!
