On my acoustic I usually use DR Extra Life coated 12's, but I like to try different types. The Elixirs aren't bad either.

i agree with captaintripps, the only reason I really have to change out my elixers is because it gets hard the digits

I use Elixers too (.11 gage) because my sweat is as corrosive as "Alien" blood. But there are brands that have better tone. I like Vinci's but they break too easy (on me).

Wow. Don't like elixors, like d'addario xls. I thought the elixors (which are still on my acoustic) felt stiff and not as supple to bend. I will go back to d'addarios when the elixors become a set of five for the first time.
Am I a bad head for felling this way? Heh heh.
Maybe for amends I will try the Dr.s.

I dunno why Ive been messing with those puny strings all this time
