In Denver I played in a band called the Deadbeats. We ended up hearing from another band called the Deadbeats from Chicago and they were all pissed off that we were using their name. Turned out there was another Deadbeats in NY as well. Go figure...

I've been in the Chicago scene for over 15 years and never heard of them. Weird...

I don't think they've been active since at least the mid-90's... although there have probably been one-off revivals here and there. Last place I saw them was probably Brixie's around 97.

Well it was in about '97 or so and it was actually Scott that had told us that the rest of his former band was pissed about it. I've played a little with Scott, as well as with Shakedown - I filled in for Scott for a week when he had to go out of town - and Ted used to sit in with my band now and then. When he did we'd call ourselves the Tedbeats!

Haha - well, I don't know yet. I like some of the ideas though - there's some really great ones. in the next couple of weeks I'll get all the ideas together with everyone in the band and see what everyone thinks. Keep them coming though!
