I've had the studio Sugar Mag intro for a year or so now.
I never tire of hearing Bobby on guitar and Jer on Pedal Steel!... and that's been since I first heard it in '76 or thereabouts.

Everytime I hear Jerry "In another times Forgotten space, your eyes looked from your mothers face" it puts a smile on my face... Makes me think of my three boys.... tugs at the 'ol heart-strings.

Having said that, to a certain degree you are right, Unlike Pete B., I got REALLY tired of the studio intro of "Sugar Mag" when it was my ring-tone.

My phone went off at a Pedal Steel recording session for The Bad Dates, a while back.
Everyone stopped, and smiled.
It prompted a cerimonial, Puff!
I got no problem with Franklins, although I prefer to play Help>Slip>MNS at gigs.

I couldn't think of a better reason for the ceremony.
It is ALL good Pete, BTW.... Apples and oranges I know, but your posts prompted me to pick up a 10 string lap steel, basically a 2X4 with a pickup, volume pot, tone pot and out-put jack. So far, so good. Except the family wants to know why I'm torturing cats in my "Studio"....

I have Casey Jones as my ringtone and it's not too bad. Well maybe cause I never get called but...

fwiw, I'm not hearing any Pedal Steel on the Till The Morning Comes intro.
I think Jer is just doing some Pedal Steel-esque bends (this was recorded during his "Pedal Steel Years"). I can hear frets going by on the tail of last note of the intro.
There are a few brief comments about the recording of this tune in the GD Gear book, pp106-107. Basically saying they played it live as a "quartet", and added vox later.
Great tune! Wish they had played it more live.

The Bad Dates... I got a copy of the finished CD, but haven't listened to it yet. On these studio things I'm usually too scared to hear how my parts came out!
Besides the studio (I think I played on 4 songs) I haven't played with them, or even heard of them gigging lately.

I have an acoustic version of Loose Lucy as my ringtone, its pretty sweet. I dont know what show it was, but I think it was around '73 or '74 when Loose Lucy first showed up.

Golden Road (to unlimited devotion) would sound pretty sweet. Just a grate song!

I have friend of the devil as my ring tone, but imo cream puff war would be a great ring tone!!!

I have a pretty cool jazz version of eleanor rigby, have had it for some time and it was yet to get old

I think my fav GD intro may be Help On The Way. Not much gets me more effin' pumped than those power Fm chords!
