zeppelin's improv can be sloppy but their songwriting and the changes in the songs they hit like clickwork, however i'm a big fan of page regardless of any messy guitaring, and john paul jones is amazing at everything

i was listening to the zeppelin channel on sirius the other day and a jpj interview pops up where he was discussing how he started playing mandolin "well jimmys on guitar and plants singing so whenever they wanted an extra instrument on stage they'd just say 'oh make jonesy do it'. i'd be running around the stage trying to get to my next instrument while they'd be complaining about how long it was taking me. once plant said he needed backing vocals so guess what? now i'm a singer (warbles in an offkey fashion)" class player and great guy

Does anyone know why they apparently snubbed him (JPJ) in many of previous reunions?

I think the band might sound really good but how can you tell? The quality of the cell phone videos on utube suck. People in the audiance don't appear to be having as a good of a time as they should, reminds me of the time I laid out big bucks to see the Stones in the Baltimore Civic center on there last tour. Great music but it was hard to really get into it as most people were just holding up there damn phones taping the show. None of energy you get from the crowds at a dead show. That and no drugs ( I took my daughters).

Forget the music-- I see a HUGE commercial opportunity here:

Eff the audio quality on the vids. The key here was that Page hit his marks... which he didn't do at LiveAid or the other "reunion"... and that Plant actually sounds prety damned good for a grandfather. (Hey, got any grandfathers here who could headline this show?).

This was quite an impressive performance for a band that hadn't played a full show together for... how many years? All you skeptics are either way jaded or just plain ignorant whippersnappers. Heh.

And, just to add a little guitar thang... whereas Garcia trancended genres, Page defined one.

My 16 yr. old babysitter showed up in a Zeppelin T the other week. There is still hope for humanity.

I guess I'd be considered in the young whippersnapper category, but I'd also like to think that I've been jaded since a pretty early age

OK, so I was speaking with the owner of the company I work for and he was telling me that he was in London this week.....our company's insurance is handled by LLoyds. I asked him if he was there on business or pleasure. He said business, but we had some fun. Well, I just found out that they went to the show!!!!! They said they were amazing.

Well put, not to mention the huge contributions Page made to the recording of guitar signals to tape. No one did it better, and still to the day, no one has gotten better tones than what he recorded to tape on LZ 1 and 2. He was a pioneer in the studio as much as he was on the stage.

By the way, that Kahsmir sounds pretty friggin' tight. If people don't see that, then they have to be haters.

This is ENGLAND, where audiences wait until the very last note has died to begin applauding.

That isn't exactly true, there isn't much difference between audiences of Europe and the States.

Maybe not as much there used to be. Still I don't see how one could opine on the crowd's enjoyment unless one was actually among them.
