- See now that sounds like a party. I am probably in the minority in that I have never fired a gun. Grew up outside NYC and hunting doesn't really interest me, though I have no issue with anyone who uses the meat. I do love me some venison and elk that friends have given me.
I think if I would hunt, I would have to go at it with my bare hands to even the playing field a bit. Maybe hide up in a tree and then pounce, wrestle and strangle the prey. Or maybe build a suitable weapon with a rock, branch and some string. Tomahawk style. Then I guess I would starve or get kicked and die.
Anyway, as far as using a handgun, I do appreciate the Castle Laws here in Florida (and other states) that would allow me to use deadly force on someone on my property or car if I felt they were a threat to my safety. Now that my wife and I have a baby, 9 months yesterday, we think it is a good idea to maybe go take some lessons on guns and handling them so we can at least have the option of protecting the fort if someone ever did decide to rob or hurt one of us. That way, the cap would be busted in his ass, and not my own.
