Re: your tone in your Soundcloud clips, I'm digging it! Interestingly, it has that for lack of a better adjective piezo-ish sound I associate more with Ds than Ks or Es (but maybe that's just me).

Sounds great! Gonna give this a try when I get home with my Behringer EQ7. Just out of curiosity, why'd you drop 800 all the way down and jack up 2k and 4k? The graph you posted shows 800 pretty high. I figured you would've boosted that the same way as 2k and 4k.

The EQ adjustments with the big cuts at 4k+ and sub 800 look a lot like old low frequency range/low fi equipment limitations more than something JG would typically dial in. I wonder if "that sound" is mostly due to the specific recording or PA equipment in use that day and perhaps not what Jerry heard on stage or maybe not even what the audience heard.

That said, if you like the results, do what it takes to get there!

In the second part of my analysis, just below the diagram of the Veneta spectrum, I write the impressions I gathered from the spectrum of my own Twin. I did not include a picture because maybe people who come across this topic in the future may believe that the spectrum of my Twin is the same as theirs, but we know that there are variations at play (ie unique amp characteristics, speakers and tonestack settings) that can change the experience dramatically.

Anyway, I did write that my Twin had an exaggerated peak in the 800khz area that I couldn't tame with the improvised paraEQ on my Zoia, even with a pretty dramatica underboost\underdrive. To tame it I had to saw it off with the EQ7 (which of course being a pedal dedicated to equalizing, is much more efficient). I jacked up the 1kHz, 1.6kHz, 2kHz, 2.5kHz to compensate for my Twin's lack of movement in those departments too. As analyzed, a gigantic part of the Jerry sound resides right in that particular range, and this is in line with what Sarno has always said in these and other shores. Same story, the dramatic underdrive around the 4kHz is to kill anything around those zones because the spectrum analysis of Veneta birdsong shows very little movement there, while there was a lot of movement in my natural EQ.

The Twin I use is a Tonemaster with loaded Weber Californias, 1 Alnico 1 Ceramic.

That's also my original theory! As stated in the original post, imho it's the sum of Jerry settings, soundboard mixing and old recording equipment "staining" the overall sound

However, I'm unhappy with the way the soundclip sounds, so this weekend I'll post another one a little louder to the point where the acoustic sound of the guitar strings can't be heard lol.

You should definitely hear those cosmic peacocks i'm hearing, and with these settings it's so easy to summon them
