Standing on the Moon is the greatest love song ever written, here's why ---

It's true, the song does describe the ugliness of earth and the stupidity of war. It does not contrast this ugliness and stupidity with beauty, but rather asserts that in addition to the ugliness, beauty itself is in short supply ("a scrap of age old lullaby down some forgotten street")

The narrator on the other hand is removed from this crap with true vision and a "lovely view of heaven". That is, the narrator does not need to deal with the ugliness of Earth, and is in a position to live amongst the gods so to speak.

Despite this, he (or she I guess) would still "rather be with you". In this case, "you" being the woman acidrain30005 is trying to woo.

That's some heavy duty love.

Hey. Thank you all so much for all of the help. I think right now it's a tie between "Easy to Love You" and "Standing on the Moon". But don't let me stop you from suggesting.

How about Help slip? or China doll? haha jk but yeah Easy to love you or LLR would def be the way to go. Like Tigerstrat said LLR may not be about what your goin for but it sure does have that wooing sound to it. And if you serenaded it to her im sure it would do the job and then some

My recommendation is Love Me Like A Reptile by Motorhead.

Actually, Inna Gadda Da Vida by Iron Butterfly is better. Wait, go with Sit On My Face Stevie Nicks! Hey I have been married 12 years.

I'll ask the next five women I speak to whether they think of SOTM as a love song; AND if they find it "romantic" (which I believe is acidrain's main point)

...I'll get back to ya in about ten years!! Just kidding, I'll speak to at least two tonight.

Reuben "seems" like a love song and has a romantic flavor to it, but the lyrics are about infidelity!

Let us know how it goes, acid.

jack a roe
why dont we get married you and I?

terrapin speaks of daring love
the compass always points to terrapin

love is real
Not Fade Away

All you really need is
Good Lovin'

It hurts me too

From the heart of me

each has a different vibe but if you "deliver" the song your friend will get it.

And once she gets it almost every song you sing to her will be a "love" song because it will be you delivering a poem unto her.

Easy to love is way too hard for me to sing much less be in character to deliver

To lay me down is the primo de primo but watch out for busting into tears while you're singing it

How 'bout Birdsong:

Definitely a love song but more along the lines of love lost. One of my favorites so I thought it to be worth mentioning.

"Laugh in the sunshine, sing, cry in the dark. Fly thru the nite."

actually, Not Fade Away would probably be great if you don't mind being a little bold beginning with "I'm gonna tell you how its gonna be..."
