Wow, what a game!

No doubt...all 100 plus minutes of it.

I don't know if I've ever seen a game where the losing team so thoroughly dominated the winner---can you say "Total Demoralization".

Maybe they shouldn't have been so quick with that champagne.

How haunted is the Detroit player who scored the Pens' 2nd goal gonna be if they end up losing this thing! He'll need to be in group therapy with Scott Norwood.

man, you had to take a shot at buffalo, womp womp. Scott Norwood, for the record is the only person to get over that kick. believe me when i say, we are all still loathing that kick. it would have changed buffalo.

so many records broken, what an amazing series, probably the best Wings Team I have seen in my life, and, based on all the smashed records, the best that they have ever played in the Stanley Cup. I got to see three games in person (two in Denver, one in Detroit), it was seriously a lot of fun to watch them kick ass every time.

Look's like Fleury is going to be that man! Game winner coming off your ass. I swear you could try to make a puck squirt off your ass your entire life and never get it to happen. Pittsburgh made a series out of it, I really enjoyed the action of the last few games and I am glad I that I decided to go to Game 1 instead of Game 5.

What a relief to not have to hear how the losing team is the face of the NHL. I mean seriously, sorry Canadians (Don Cherry and Barry Melrose), but Europe, specifically SWEDEN (and more specifically ZETTERBERG) is the new face of the NHL. Crosby and the Pens are going to have to earn that title, and seeing how Crosby acts, he's got a lot to learn before he will earn it, and Pittsburgh may have to find a new goalie now that Fleury will forever be known as the guy who pooped out the game winning goal (as my son put it).

No doubt they are a phenomenal team. Just look at the first two games of the series - complete domination. I wasn't expecting that based on how the Pens performed leading up to that. The Pens had an incredible team this year, though. I just wish they would have been able to finish it off. So many signings coming up that you just know the Pens of next season will be much different than the team we grew to love (us fans from Pittsburgh, at least). Obviously the core will not change, but everyone that played contributed so much that it will be hard to see them go. Even though we lost the series, this year has been great for me. The Pens played great hockey to finish off the season, I was fortunate to be able to attend a good many games, and the game Monday is definitely up there with the most exciting games I've ever seen. Talbot with 35 seconds left.. amazing!

We lost, yes, it's sad. I gotta hand it to the Wings. They played excellent hockey. Detroit is a good hockey town. Always a fun place to catch a game.

As for Fleury and that goal...yeah, that was a rough one to digest. I think Orpik should have been looking there, especially when you hear the crowd roaring so loud and no whistle blown. It's unfortunate that happened, no doubt, but just gotta move on.

Bring on the 2008/2009 season!

(Not much to do in the way of sports here now. The Pirates, yeah, they're playing (if you can call it that) but with no hockey and no football, it's set to get real boring around these parts.)

Detroit was definitely the better team. Congrats!

It's moot now, but as for Fleury's "pooping" that goal, twas definitely harsh, but, a bit different than shooting the puck in the net against your own team.

Fly Guys got screwed with the league giving Detroit the outdoor game and not going with Flyers/Pens @ Happy Valley.
Flyers/Pens is JUST starting to get good.
Both young teams.
Pens got more Talent;Philly more $$$$.

As for being on Crosby's dick all the time - get over it. Just 'cause the guy whines a bit to the refs...jeez.

He played with more heart than anyone on the ice for the majority of the series. He's got more talent in him than anyone in the league and, if he were on YOUR team, you'd be in line to filate him regularly.

As for Fleury - he proved himself to be a premiere goaltender in this league. 55 of 58 in Game 5?! "Pooping out" that goal, although it was the cup-winner, will never affect his play in a negative way.

Great season. Great cup series. Detroit - Congrats. The Pens will be in the Finals next year, as well. Don't think the same can be said about Detroit, tho.

why's that? Even Crosby's (and Anaheim's) lover Don Cherry picks the Wings in the cup next year. We've got most of the young talent locked up and are $16 million under the cap, which will get the rest of the team and a free agent. I'll be honest, I don't watch Eastern Conference Hockey because I think it's the N.I.T. Tournament of the NHL, but I wasn't impressed with Crosby when I did see him play. I thought Hossa played with more "heart". It's not Crosby's whining that gets me (although he does it a lot), it's his ego and sense of entitlement (which explains the whining). He shows no respect for anything except himself, and I understand why - his coach, don cherry, Barry Melrose, and every other canadian keep on telling him he's the best even when he loses, feeding his ego. If crosby played for the wings he'd have a chance to be as great as everyone says he is. The worst thing Crosby has going for him is his coach, who is not mentoring him well at all.

....really? The N.I.T.....That's a bit harsh. The N.I.T. sucks. Eastern Conference has some solid teams.

Definitely cannot agree with anything said above. If you aren't watching the Eastern Conference, that means you aren't watching the Pens. If you aren't watching the Pens, how can you claim that Crosby has a 'sense of entitlement' causing him to whine all of the time, not to mention having all of the commentators feed his supposedly large ego? I never get the impression the he has a sense of entitlement. Speaks well during conferences, doesn't shift the blame elsewhere when it should fall on him, and is a good team player.


Pens have amazing young talent. Crosby never fails to amaze me, though I don't ever think he returned to 100% after his injury, so his play wasn't topnotch but it was still good. Hossa looked great that series. Such a solid player. I hope we can sign him.
