TJ, I'm sure the Pens will win, but how's that gonna end your misery when you're still in Philly and a Crier's fan??

Steve, That's why I go to Fathead's (and Casey's and Dee's, etc) :D

Mario told them to give one up...he needs the revenue from game 5 and wanted the Pens to win it at home on national TV.

The Fliers simply slapped the Pens last night for 2 periods. They deserved the win.

The game had some very questionable calls (hold on Gonchar), but clipping? Since when is there a penalty known as clipping in hockey? Just because the terrible Versus commentators use football references throughout the game doesn't mean the refs should start calling football penalties.

First two periods, yes, Pens didn't look too good. Not a problem though, I've no doubt in my mind the Flyers are soon gonna see an end to their season. Worth mentioning, I think, but did anyone else see the shirts the fans were wearing during game 1, the 'why not us' shirts? Pathetic.

A true testament to Philadelphia. :D

The funniest thing about the whole Philly "movement" is "The Most Intimidating Fans In The World" shirts and landing page (that was removed from their website today). Yes, we're so intimidated. We're up 3-1, playing on National TV on Sunday at home because some stupid half-wits in orange shirts just scared the bejeezus out of our hockey team.

Sidney? Crying??? I don't think so, my man. He stood up just fine to Richards, if you ask me. He was in the trenches, trash talking just fine. All I can say is that you and your band of bs bretheren had BETTER hope they come out w/ Georges Laraque on the ice in the first period. SURE, he'll make minced meat out of every Cryer in his path, but he'll take a big major penalty that may cost us a couple of early goals against us. Probably won't happen though. Instead, you'll see a team possessed and poised to mop up the ice with your pathetic excuse for a Cinderella team.

I just have a few comments and questions that I'd like to pose before Game 5. I'm sure this will never reach Coach Therrien, but...

* Why stack the first line? Why change one ioda of the game plan? With a 3-0 lead and the sheer fact that everything was working just fine, why try to fix what ain't broke?

* When you're down 3-0 after the first period and things are looking grim, why not throw some serious physical play into the game? Where was Georges Laraque? A little intimidation could go a long way.

* To continue that last thought, why on earth was Laraque NOT on the ice after the first big scrum in the third period? Ryan Malone against Hatcher? Malone, I admit, is a big boy and can take care of himself and was most certainly not bloodied by Hatcher, but that battle should have been fought by Laraque. We were pushed around quite a bit in that third period, because that's all the Flyers had left in their game. They were starting to get outplayed in the game, perhaps feeling a sense of fear and desparity when Jordan Staal scored his second goal. They started bringing the hitting back into the game and we simply did nothing about it. Georges Laraque, the best hockey-playing goon in the NHL ('cause the man CAN score), is still what he is - a physical presence. A goon. He has not been utilized by Therrien at all. I'm not saying jump right out there from the opening face-off and take a bad penalty, but when you're down and people on both sides are dropping the gloves, Laraque should not be on the bench. He should come out and take that penalty along with a couple of Flyers' teeth.

* Now is the time to not panic. Now is the time to get smart. It was announced on Philadelphia Radio Sports Station WIP that BOTH Timonen and Coburn will be playing in Game 5. The Penguins need to come out strong, fast, smart and back to the original lines. They may want to consider opening with the third line, as that was the line that gave the most heart in Game 4. Let's show Philadelphia who belongs in the Cup Finals on Sunday.

* Finally, the funniest thing I've seen in a long time...I clicked on the homepage of the Philadelphia Flyers' website yesterday. The landing page read: " The Most Intimidating Fans In The World." Yes, everyone is so intimidated by the Santa-Claus-booing, popcorn-dumping, adolescent-behaving doubters that you really are. The vast majority of posts before Game 1 of this series on Flyers' message boards had such intimidating comments as, "I sure hope we can take a game off of the Penguins," and "Oh no, Timonen's out - there goes all hope." Who thought up that slogan?! It has since been removed, and with good reason. The shot from the Philly bar during the early-going of Game 1 was hysterical to me. Seeing a 20-something, playoff-beard-donning loser shaking his head with wide eyes, as if to provoke intimidation into the Penguins fans who were watching across the state, was so funny to me that I almost fell out of my chair. So scary was he. There are no intimidating fans, people. Most hockey players could beat the snot out of most fans, one on one - maybe even two fans on one hockey player. The intimidation factor of coming into the opponent's arena - surrounded by their colors, intimidating? Nah, I think it makes it more fun for these guys. You're not intimidating and neither is your hockey club. Enjoy spending Memorial Day with your families, Cryers - the Pens will be playing hockey.

GO PENS!!!!

GET IN THE GAME...
You Hayseeds are criticizing Philly fans ?
We gave Mario a great send off - very classy.
Who cares about the Pens
You could have been in Kanasas
You band wagon jumping fans
Do you guys even have Sports talk radio ?
Flyers just gonna try to beat you down for your next series
Fun watching Cindy get frustrated
Yeah Cindy needs his Big Bro Laraque to fight for him..
The Wimpy-est Captain EVER
Ha !

Yeah, Wayne Gretzky was a pussy, too...

I almost had respect for you, Jedi...almost.

You keep on keepin' on, brother. You and your band of toothless morons in orange. KANASAS? Where's that? Next to TEXAKAS?

There is no doubt that the Cryers (who have more than EARNED that name this series with comments like, "Ooooh, the refs are against us!" and "Have that stick measured!" and "If Timonen were here, it'd be a different series!") are out to try and inflict some hits on the Pens. That's all they have left. They're certainly not going to beat us at HOCKEY...just maybe a scrap or two - and yes, let's pick on Sidney Crosby. At least Hatcher went after Malone and, admittedly, beat him. I'd like to see Richards take on Ruutu...hell, Tyler Kennedy could kick Richards' ass.

It matters not - the Cryers fall BIG TIME in Game 5. Your season is gone, as is any respect I have for any Cryers' fan.

You SHOULD have given Mario a great send off - he was the best player hockey ever saw. The only reason you DID give him a great send-off is because EVERY OTHER team did so, as well...it's not like you guys invented that.

Do we HAVE sports talk radio???? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Just 'cause Jodi Mack is good, doesn't mean there aren't others. Just 'cause our Baseball team sucks doesn't mean we don't talk about them, as well as the Steelers (who will beat Philly this year - AGAIN) and the soon-to-be-Conference-Champion Penguins. Of COURSE we have sports talk radio. So does EVERY city with a major sports team.

Yeah, Crosby's REAL frustrated leading the NHL in scoring in the post-season. You guys really got under his skin last night. Grow the fuck up. He OWNS your team. As does Malkin, Hossa, Fluery, Staal, etc.....8-0 against you last year and 6-5 this year, including 3 straight playoff wins.

Bandwagon?!!! You'll be rooting for Pittsburgh - GUARANTEED in the Cup Finals. I've been a Pens fan since the age of 7. You'll be one next week, biatch!!! :x :x :x :x

What a way to end the Flyers season! Haha, 6-0 blowout. I was expecting the Flyers to turn dirty after the game was out of reach, they didn't do that, so I give them just a tiny bit of respect for playing the game through and not taking cheap shots.

Now the waiting for the final series begins. GO PENS!

You guys smoked us ....
What a Beat Down.

Pittsburgh - One of the best sports towns ever ...
Crosby had a great series .....
Next 10 years are gonna be great for both teams with all the young players.
Kinda ironic that Philly has all the cool teams in the State and Pitts got all the Trophys .....
