Yeah, that's totally different than buying a stock bike (just Ninja 250cc, not even anything special about it), letting it collect dust for years, then charging a premium for it (over a new bike!) just because it had low miles. 
Your bike sounded awesome! I'm surprised that a hotrod bike didn't go over better. Harleys get customized all the time! They're like Fenders.... great as is but also lots of fun to upgrade.
