So....it takes lots of nerve to commission someone to build a custom axe. I guess you really need to know every detail that you're looking for. What happens if it doesn't come out just as you expected?

My custom comissioned guitar took 12 months to build and I was involved in just about every stage of the build to get my comments or approval. It was a great experience and now I have a guitar that plays and sounds great (I've had it for 13 years now).

If money was less of an issue, I'd only get custom guitars. Do your research thoroughly before you even approach a builder. Be totally convinced of what you want in the custom guitar.
