The best dark star I've ever heard is the Fillmore East April 71'. It's on Ladies and Gentlemen... The Grateful Dead disk 2. The opening intro/jam is beyond words. If i had a complaint it would be from like 5 minutes to about 6 1/2 it's like a bad Dark Star where they all go off and do their own thing. But they bring it back to gether when Jerry starts doing a scale and Phil does this thing on his bass and brings it all together. What makes it all the better is it goes into a St. Stephen; Not Fade Away; Goin' Down the Road Feelin' Bad; Not Fade Away which will blow your mind. As long as I'm talking about the CD i might as well say that the Turn on Your Lovelight is the coolest ever. If anyone went to that concert post a reply back telling me what it was like. :thewave:
