over all a good showing - for my part I made a bunch of little screwups but some good stuff as well. Wish we hadn't missed the tunes we did, recording wise - oh well. Best jams seem to be what we have of Hey Pocky Way (missed the beginning), Shakedown & gdtrfb. Some other good stuff as well. tx mike and G man, glad to be of service & you're welcome!

bill, just listened to the whole show.. overall, things sounded great. though the one thing i noticed was right around the time you guys hit eyes tempos started to slow, energy started to die off, thought there was high points in the 2nd set it just seemed like u guys lost a bit of the energy from first set, which fucking rocked. i was goin nuts during the jed solo, overall very well done. also during second set seemed like the crowd died down, which plays a huge part as in the bands energy as anyone whos ever played a show knows. you feeed of the audience big time. but ya, sick show overall, i liked the setlist alot. my highlights being being ten. jed, TMNS, hey pocky, the 2nd solo of gdtrfb, and OMSN. thats an overwhelming favorite encore of mine along with brokedown palace so that was very much enjoyed. you guys rocked hard for a first show, im sure youll be getting plenty of return visits to the rye. i was waiting for this recording since you posted that you got a gig haha, and its finally here and soon will be on my ipod

Hey Pat-
As always thanks so much for checking us out - as I mentioned in an earlier post the crowd did thin out considerably after the 1st set - about 10 or 15 peeps hung for the rest - the cool part was they were really into it. We didn't start the 2nd set until a bit after 1 I think - It was somewhat of an older crowd so they kinda headed out for the most part after the 1st set. - Next time (they did say they'll have us back) we'll play a longer 1st set it seems. I'm not sure I agree with the energy thing - even the last tune of the night was still pretty high energy (especially for ending at 2:45am!) - eyes is somewhat laid back by nature - I know my voice started goin a bit and my throat hurt a bunch afterwards. Overall I thought we did well - I thought I wasn't as fluid with my leads at times - it's something we all struggle with; to be on top of our "game" and be in that somewhat elusive zone as much as we can. Gotta feel that groove and then weave your playing into it.

Somehow I also got a bit screwed up with my envelope filter tone - somehow slipped back into that metalic, fuzzy, buzzy thing again - I thought I'd eq'd my way out of that the last 5 or 6 rehearsals but something wasn't right - gotta work on that again.

Thanks again Pat - and with this addition to the archive I set up a Stella Blue's Band section for us.

Hey Bill (and the rest of the band), I just downloaded your show. Listening now and got you loaded on my ipod for the next few days in the car. What I've listened to so far sounds really freekin good. I agree with Pat....the second solo in Tenn. Jed rocked. I don't think your leads lacked any fluidity at all Bill. And Mike....your Bobby tone/licks are uncanny...really diggin it.
Bill, I just listened to Big River and Jed. Are you using the neck pick up? Or maybe the middle position? I just noticed it didn't sound like the bridge pu, which I know you like on the Schecter. Could've been the recording too. Either way, I liked it. You had a little more of a jazzy sound. Can't wait to listen to the rest.

Hey Kev,
I tend to make more out of it then there is, usually, but the most obvious place is a couple a riffs in the Scarlet lead - I think I got a bit hung up on an arpeggio or 2. A couple of other spots throughout as well (along with my seemingly usual amount of clams!) though sometimes I do a good job of blending some rough spots and they're often not really noticable.

I have been leaning on the bridge p/u more lately - diggin a more jazzy, mid 70's kinda feel. It's a constantly evolving deal - I'm still experimenting quite a bit

as I mentioned to my bandmates, while Hey Pocky Way is cut, we have a real good minute or so in the jam where we really get that "the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts" thing going on. Some nice stuff in Shakedown as well. I think eyes is pretty tight too - as is gdtrfb, hell and omsn as well.

Thanks for checking it out kev.
