I too am struggling with the "funk". There are so many specifics to dial in on the axe but the estimated/shakedown has me stumped. I get better results from the auto wah but I am not happy with it. Care to share your thoughts?

AxeFX users only:

Here are the parameters I used for the Wah block ... you will have to adjust the sensitivity based on your pickups and the overall input levels into the AxeFX. I may have tweaked it some since I sent Hogan this information, but once you get it set it's pretty easy to tweak it.

Wah:
Lowpass
Fmin 200 (wah pedal down)
Fmax 1914.6 (wah pedal up)
Res 5.0
Track 5.0
Freq -- this is tied the envelope parameter as opposed to an external controller, like a wah pedal -- highlight freq and hit the enter button for the [ ] to activate the modifier and fill it out as below ->
Level 3.75

Modifier: Select envelope.
Envelope
Start 0
Mid 45.3
End 100
Slope 59.8
Scale 100
Offset 35.4
Damping 0
Autoengage off

Controllers: these are adjusted for the envelope:
Threshold -39.4 --- this sets the responsiveness
Attack: 26 -- this is how quick it "opens" the pedal
Release: 248 -- this is how quick it "closes" the pedal as the level dies off
Gain: 1.66

We need a permanent thread for the Axe-fx. I know there are at least 4 users on this board and more to come. We need a place to share settings and new ideas as they come about. If I didn't like it here so much I wouldn't say anything but I do so I am. Thanks!

Check out the Bird Song jam on that archive link ... during the jam, I used the AxeFX phaser, delay, overdrive, wah pedal and Q-tron all in one tune. Forgot the octave ... coulda been the record.

I just can't wait to play my Tiger through it, because as thin and flat as the Strat sounds in comparison, it should be really something.

The mix is clearly in need of some more cowbell.

I'm telling you... you're gonna want that cowbell on the tracks!

I recorded the straight two-track house mix off the board Saturday night, and then remixed the multitrack recording later. Here's 20 seconds of He's Gone each way. Huge difference:

A nice stereo recording rig setup 25 to 30 feet dead front center would let you know if does...

We do that ... except the drummer never posts the recordings.

then you could make " Matrix " mix's .... take a little Aud ... take a little SB ...mix it all together for some Alligator Wine ....sweet
