Hard to answer, as I had it blocked at the same time as I went from the stock steel bridge to the brass one. So, I don't have any way to really know. I can say that blocking a trem bridge makes a HUGE difference as a friend just did that with his otherwise bone stock strat.

Everything I have read says that bridge material makes a difference, but since I didn't do that in isolation, I can't say how much.

Here is my homemade custom strat. I bought all the parts and put it together myself, sounds and plays awesome!!!

I got most of the parts from pickersparts.com and stew-mac. If you are looking for strat parts at a decent price pickers parts is the way to go. I got a set of tonerider pickups in a prewired pickguard and they sound really good. For the money they are really great pickups, I got a set of City Limits, which are the equivalent to texas sepcials.
