I love Banjo jokes... but seriously, I took up Banjo this summer, and my right hand techinique on both Guitar and Pedal Steel Guitar has improved noteably.
Also, it is really clear to me where Jerry is playing banjo rolls on his guitar solo's, especially in the late 60's jams (Another piece of the puzzle "unlocks").

Here's one:
Defenition of a "Gentleman": One who can play a Banjo, but chooses not to.
