I don't which was worse....cheesey Bobby is one thing but the Bucket with the whole band blows my mind
At least Jerry didn't dress up
I need to get a yellow t shirt and what ever color blazer and a haircut now for our next band practice
They should use that duck in an AFFLAC commercial
I never thought the Dead would a video that make Van Halen videos look good....
pass the nachos please

Perhaps even more unsettling is the fact that Billy Cobham is on it too!
Yeah, I know... it's all fun and games til someone gets hurt... then it's just fun

I just watched the Bucket vid---hadn't seen it in a long time. I gotta think they were trying to be funny and sarcastic/cheesy with that one and I laughed quite a bit watching it.
That Bobby and the Midnight's one almost seemed like there was a serious aire to it--like they were gonna be big rock stars when it hit MTV---such a crappy song too. At least Bucket is a good song.
As for the duck, have you ever seen the interview where someone asks Bob about the duck?
I think it was a NYE broadcast--maybe 1982. Funny stuff. I think Bob says something about how what's going on between him and the duck is private, or something like that. Also in that interview, someone asks Jerry who handles his wardrobe. Jerry says "that would be my designer "Robert"...Bob chimes in and talks about how they were all sick of his typical Aztec Sun-God outfit so they decided to go with the black T-Shirt, black pants and black shoes. Hilarious.

80's sounds... 60's-style video direction.
When we call him "queer Bob Weir" It has nothing to do with his sexual preference...it is because of stuff like that. I also like "Bobby McGeek"
We love you Bob don't you go changin' babe!!!

I had that record back in the day - well duped to cassette anyway. Didn't get much play, however the guys I played with did one of the Booby tunes off that and it was a decent bar gig tune.

Django, you may be onto something. What if we assigned, at random, one tune off that album to every Dead Band on this site and within 2 months they had to put a recording of it up as proof!
LOL!

The real question is how did that not get pulled into the Dead's rotation?
Brutal.

Worst Yacht Rock Ever.
Very similar to Huey Lewis, Hall & Oates, or Jefferson Starship vids of the same era, just more painful because... that's our Bob!
And Billy Cobham ferchrissakes, using about 4% of his talent
. At least they made an attempt to get in on the groundfloor of the music video bubble- you never knew what brand of crap was going to hit it huge in those days... we should be thankful this one
wasn't all over the radio and TV for several weeks!

I have always felt that Bobby is a very underated guitar player. Maybe not by us here on the board but in general.
That being said, I was embarrassed just watching the video.
