Forget about Federal Law for now. Our new President has publicly stated that he will tell Federal Agents to stand down and cease their raids of Medical Marijuana facilities in states that have legalized them. I believe that is why N.J. has finally got this bill, which was introduced in 2005, to a vote. Governor Corzine has said that if the bill makes it to his desk he will sign it into law.

However passing the State Senate is only one hurdle. It still has to pass through the State Assembly. Every State Assemblyman and woman is up for re-election this year. It's time to stand up and get these lawmakers to do what's right. There's no better time than an election year to make your voices heard. Ask for their support in passing the Compassionate Use of Medical Marijuana Act (Bill S119, A804). If it doesn't make it through the House this time it will be forced back into committee and the process will re-start, which could take forever. THE TIME IS NOW PEOPLE. LET YOUR VOICES BE HEARD!!!!

Sadly, people think big government can fix the economy. The flux of the economy goes far beyond the realm of the govt. Its cycles are natural. People bought into the fear campaign of Obama and now we are going to have a big government, a very big one in fact. Our kids will have a ridiculous debt on their hands to deal with.

Obama's campaign was genius. If you blame the economy on the previous administration you not only get yourself the win, you get to blame them for anything u can't fix on your own. (Of course no one talks about the fact that the mortgage crisis goes back to Bill Clinton and Janet Reno but that doesn't fit the agenda of the Obama machine.) And if the economy adjusts itself and turns around, which it will do on its own without the aid of big government, you get to pat yourself on the back on look like a hero.

The Dems are making villains of the GOP for questioning how a 3 Trillion Dollar bill can get passed without anyone reading the text. Unless of course you think they all read the 1100 pages in a few days. But people are so desperate no one cares to examine the facts. And the queen supreme of fucktards Nancy Pelosi, who co wrote the bill doesn't really care what the GOP has to say because she believes "We won we can do whatever the fuck we want to now." We will pay the bill for her Hubris.

The GOP are total dummies (and I am one) for putting McCain and Palin the fucktard on the ticket. Now they are getting piledrived in the Senate and Congress while Obama appoints more fucktards to an even bigger government. Car czar would have been a good idea, but no it has to be a panel of fucktards. Bigger and bigger we get. The faster we go the rounder we get.

They are all fear mongers. Have you heard anything from Obama that has even the slightest hint of optimism about things? The media is probably the most guilty as fear sells, always has. It's the nature of power though for both DEMS and the GOP. It's exactly why this bill passed without anyone caring no one read it. People are afraid and it has impaired their judgment.

It's clear Obama is a very smart man, which is dangerous. Consider he has the house and senate and it's really a potential perfect storm. Bush was an idiot and obviously that didn't work out too well either in some cases so I have to be happy about us having intelligence in the Oval Office but that is a double edged sword.

Every word Obama says is carefully calculated, so the mantras of "failed policy" and "greed and corruption on Wall St" have been drilled into our heads. Notice how well the market is doing. It creates fear which makes for easy manipulation of the masses. Politics 101 and it goes back about a few thousand years. Hats off to him for getting what he wants. I'm just calling him out on the method because people seem to put him on a pedestal and that bothers me a bit. Everyone should be accountable for what they say and do.

Never said it was all Bill's fault, but for some reason he and Reno and Barney Frank have gotten a pass for putting heat on banks to take on bad loans. That is marketing well done by the Dems. And poor counter-marketing by a very poorly run GOP with a fucktard of president the past 8 years. I loved Clinton but he is certainly a large part of the current mortgage crisis. The evidence is clearly there, not solely upon him, but clearly a part of it.

I guess my final point is that they are all fucktards. Now I must work.

Imagine the tax revenue that would flow from legalization. Sell it at liquor stores, who are already accustomed to handling controlled substances. The problem is getting past all of the fear that has been sown by the drug warriors. Obama may moderate the actions of the DEA somewhat, but I am too old to be very optimistic about much change.

I am in the liquor business and the tax revenue is pretty substantial from state excise tax. The three tiered liquor system would actually work pretty well for a marijuana application.

After prohibition the government decided the liquor industry should be set up for three tiers.

Supplier sells to wholesaler.

Wholesaler sells to retailer.

Retailer sells to consumer level.

It was actually put in place to prevent monopolies but in actuality it has done the opposite as the huge wholesalers are leveraged by the huge suppliers (Diageo, Bacardi, etc) to secure shelf space both on and off premise. IT has in essence created more monopolies to some degree but the system works if you have a good product and market well and that is the nature of free enterprise.

Reporting from Sacramento -- Could Cannabis sativa be a salvation for California's fiscal misfortunes? Can the state get a better budget grip by taxing what some folks toke?

An assemblyman from San Francisco announced legislation Monday to do just that: make California the first state in the nation to tax and regulate recreational marijuana in the same manner as alcohol.
