Well, I didn't mean to ruffle so many feathers (no pun intended). Hell Ya they're a great group. I'm just sick to death of them. Yes I do own "Eagles" cd's.

And I love "In the City". weak tune as it may be. It always reminds me of the movie "The Warriors"

I think they invented the term "Life in the fast lane " which is kinda cool they had that kind of impact on how we speak ...

She broke out in like 1992-3 with "Leaving Las Vegas", but 94 is when she went really huge with "All I Wanna Do". I don't think she would have been opening for them if she didn't have hits.

My 2 cents, the Eagles are a great group, in moderate dosages. I'd probably get bored during a whole concert. I tend to like the earlier stuff best.

I think Joe Walsh is a great player

I always thought Henley was a bit of an asshole, reading the latest Rolling Stone confirmed that. Don't get me wrong here because ultimatley I really do like them, I just wish they would get some balls and rock out now and then (other than their couple of rockin' tunes).. I guess an outsider looking at the GD would probably think the same thing.

"Hotel California" is what it was. It was the decline of the Scene and the music. It was the start of the big Sellout. $95dollar shows. Joe Walsh's solo albums and stuff with the Jame's Gang was pretty rich. Of course they were all great players but it all became a cocaine fueled money grab.

I believe "life in the fast lane," the phrase was around before the Eagles....Rebel Without A Cause comes to mind, tho I'm not sure it's actually in that movie...but there's a good chance it is.

Funny - the Eagles' first hit was a cover song. "Take It Easy," by Jackson Browne.

ya leaving las vegas was from the same album, released in '93 but didnt get any attention till she started touring, and then the release of the all i wanna do video, winning a grammy 2 years after its release. Must have been some fun jamming sessions in the studio, alot of songwriters collaborating all at once.

I guess I have to remind about the first three Eagles albums, before the '80s, when there were plenty of banjos, acoustic guitars, mandolins, soaring slide guitar and tight vocals on songs like '21' and 'Witchy Woman', 'Another Tequila Sunrise', 'Already Gone'.

Of course 'Deperado' and Take it Easy' got over played too IMHO.

my 2 cents on the Eagles.

Despite sharing a name with the worst franchise in all of the NFL, they are a great band.

1. Hotel California has one of rock's all time great guitar solos, can not be argued. Joe Walsh was flat out nasty in the day.

2. Life in the Fast Lane studio version is one of the cleanest and best sounding recordings I have ever heard. Listen to that in your car and you will see what I am talking about.

Eagles in music good stuff, in football they are the pits. Go Cowboys!
