When it doesn't fit anywhere else

Somewhat off topic but....
Funny story related to "What do you do before a gig".... Well funny to me anyway....

I do not play in a working band, I have some "Performing" friends that ask me to sit in on some things here and there so...
I was asked a couple of weeks ago to help out on some tracks for a demo a group of young 'uns are doing. They are a being sponsored by a group of us old rockers that are trying to "Pay it forward".
I show up with one of the '64 DR's, POD XT and an assortment of stomp boxes. All neatly put together in an old suitcase I modified with foam so that everything I need is in it's place.... as well as a lot of things I would never need but... you never know...Right nick?
These cat's were getting a hoot out of me having spare parts and pieces (For the OLD style Floyd) for a Franken-Kramer I have. After a good laugh at my expense, we set up my gear in the side studio where I was separated by a glass wall from the band. My Amp was in a "Dead" room.
So, we're all set up, I have listed to the playback of the most current takes, then I hear the most god-awful "TWANG" coming in from the live-feed from the main studio. The other git-fiddler lost a spring on his new style Floyd. Guess who just happed to have had one....
Needless to say it was I who had the last laugh and they were good enough to recognize that many years of the Dead following me around and having to make do with what you have, ain't such a bad thing.
Old people ROCK!
PEACE,
Phil
