Sucks bro - I am on my way to MA tomorrow morning...I'll be in & out of MANY bars over the weekend, I'm sure. So, if I see someone playing a Strat, I'll tackle them & check the serial #.

Good luck.

Pappy

Bear in mind that it most likely will not show up for sale anywhere before several months have passed. You know- gotta let the heat die down so they can feel safe... that's when to really keep watching.

If/when you do spot it, call the seller to set up a "buy" and have the local police come with you to wait from a discreet distance while you make certain its your guitar.

What could complicate that type of sting would be if turns out you know the thief. Do you think that's a possibility?

I had an Ibanez Kona Flying V stolen 10 years ago. I found it last week while web surfing, it's selling for $1600 at a store in Los Vegas. I know it's mine because I routed out some of the cavity to place a battery for some EMGs that I had in there once ...and the routing was mentioned in the description. My insurance paid me $1100 for it. I bought it back in 1976 for $300. I never got a police report because a friend was borrowing it and it was in his car which was stolen. He didn't tell me for weeks so the trail got cold.

If you own a home, get a rider on your insurance to cover your gear. Same if you're a renter, get renter's insurance and make sure it covers your instruments.
It won't replace your "baby" but helps ease the pain.

Just saw this now man, sucks. If someone did that to me, I'd say f the cops and make sure they wouldn't be able to play guitar, or use their sneaky ass fingers to steal shit for a looooong time.

On that note, I'll keep my eyes open up here in the Worcester area.
