The mc isn't really good there, which hurts the rest of it. It was NaS or someone else with skills, or skeels if you will, I think it would be pretty tight. Also, add Jerry on guitar to that track and it would be phenomenal.

The cadence is very similar to those old school recordings of Fire On The Mountain with Mickey "The inventor of hop hop" Hart rhymin' over the top of it.

I've really been into the disc 2 unreleased stuff from the Dead Movie Lately.
And Bob really sounds good.
Kinda think of Bob that way.The amazing guitarist.

I saw somehing similar this past summer when bob was at ALL GOOD- It all goes like this...
First off, i don't really enjoy yonder mountain as much as say hot buttered rum, or nickel creek, so i left during there set to go take some bong rips at my site and play my own guitar. on my way back i heard the sound of bobby's guitar at the ropadope (second) stage where there is always sometype of cool improve thig going on. There was the ratdog core of Bob, Jay, Robin , and Jeff, but then there were a bunch of other musician that did not recognize. They jammed for about an hour or so when all of a sudden two dudes came up on stage and started rapping. I must say i was impressed, it was fun, and it seemed all improvisational. However, if i was at a specific ratdog show and instead of playing an actual song, bob just had some mediocre rapper come on stage, i would be pissed. That is too bad that shows encore got ruined, but ho hum.

Rude?? If you dont enjoy what you're seeing, why NOT leave? Ive left mid way thru shows because I just was not feelin it that night, whether it be the band, the crowd or just me

yeah, i have no problem with leaving during a show, everybody has there reasons. I was referring to the original post of walking out in some sort of protest against the new material.

I was remembering this when I was reading this thread. My very good friend (who used to run sound for Perpetual Groove) was running sound at Rope-A-Dope stage all weekend. I saw him the next morning after that little surprise. He was (of course) thrilled to tell me all about running sound for Bob and Co....he also made a recording of it---prolly the only one on the planet--- which he must've put on Archive because another friend burned it for me recently. Anyhoo, FWIW, I just couldn't dig it. I just don't like the raps I guess.

First time I heard it. Not a huge Ratdog fan. I think it sounds good.

My main beef with rap was always that it was canned and never used live musicians (cept for the rappers) and the live shows were more like a pep rally than a concert ("everybody say yeah!") and only lasted an hour. None of those seem to be the case here: Bobby plays long enough, there is live music backing it and you can throw down to it.

I'm catching Ratdog here in Eugene in June (w/Gov't Mule, who I am actually more excited about seeing) and kinda hope they play this. To each his/her own.

So... not too many fans here of the Spin Junkies Jay-Z's Dead recording, eh?

Same here, I love that disc.

I like it. I'm kinda getting more and more into rap nowadays. It's just weird to hear the music, better yet, the bass line, to Franklin's, and hear rapping. Not bad though.
