First off, they call themselves a church- What kind of church does not have free liturature? Second, you take a stress test with a needle that "measures" stress, but it is simple reacting to the pressure you create in you hand, so thats also bullshit. Lastly, they give you a personality test after which they basically tell you you're fucked and you need to come to scietology classes, which are like 80 fucking dollars an hour, to get better. I laughed and said, "you guys are fools. blow me"
Candyman, that's funny, i had a similar experience a few years back when traveling Europe. I had just come out of this amazing 3-d omni theater show in Copenhagen when this girl came up to me and asked me if I want to see a free movie. Being a little under the influence, I agreed and followed her to this nearby building, where they locked me and some other guy in this theater and made us watch 2 short movies on scientology. They they took us out and did the "pain needle" tests that you talked about, as well as the personality test. Of course I was all fucked up, too, and was in desparate need of their help. If I just shelled out some cash and bought their books, then all would be well!!

I tried as hard as I could to politely leave there, but they wouldn't let me go. I even tried to sneak out by going to the bathroom, but the dude followed me to the stall and waited outside the door while I went. It was bizarre, to say the least. Total cult-mentality. I was happy to get out of that building with all my money...
