WMFKNH - NO DOUBT! I remember being SUPER stoked when he started singing it, but going, "WTF?!" when he forgot 75% of the lyrics! STILL - pretty cool to see the first version played in 21 years, 21 days (3/1/69, I think, was PigPen's last version w/ GD).

Not to thread hijack, but I was at two of the worst breakouts...

Hampton when they tried (and failed) to do Stir it up

and the worst...

SF civic where Bobby mangled Get Back pretty badly...

Well, let's see what I can remember. The Philly 4/8/85 show with Walking the Dog - Big Boss Man and Revolution to open the second set. The first Why Don't We Do it In The Road at Merriwether in 1984, along with the Casey Jones that was the first in quite some time.

Box of Rain and Roadrunner at Hampton spring 1986. The first two of the only three Devil With A Blue Dress/Good Golly Miss Molly medleys. The Capital Center Ripple. I remember catching a To Lay Me Down that was the first in years, but I can't remember which show right now.

I'm sure I'm missing a couple at least.....

Oh I was at Rochester too. Silver Stadium at the time, I think?

Good times!

See, there you go - already one I didn't remember. I was at the Silver Stadium 1988 show as well, Green Onions opener. I also was there for the Stir it Up at Hampton, and the So What jam the next year, but don't really consider those "breakouts", more like embarrassing moments in Dead history. The Stir it Up especially was brutal.

You mean many "last wins of the season"

Sorry, I simply couldn't resist. Always liked the Bills, EXCEPT for Jim Kelly.

Thread now jacked.
