I just recently picked a Highwayone Strat, and I like the pickups my but they are noisier then hell, especially in the neck and middle positions. It's a HSS. Maybe its my real old peavy amp? any suggestions here? thanks

yes the SCNs are bassier and thicker, especially if you get the fender S-1 switching that accompanies them installed as well

How much does it cost to get the s-1 installed with them?

I installed DiMarzio HS-2 (2) and HS-3s in my 62 Reissue which gave it a fatter tone and no hum but still keeps the Strat sound.

When i was looking for a strat i was looking for the (i think) same thing as you man. A strat with a thicker kinda tone. quiet if possible. I didn't have alot of cash to explore with(other pic-ups etc..) so i kept playing any strat i could find (hopefully with a tube amp near). well as luck would have it. i went into my local store to get some strings bought 3 packs went home, 5hrs. later relized 1 of the packs was wrong gage brought it back and this guy just put on consignment a strat. 97' strat plus.
i played it with the guy standing there and bought it! it has 3 lace sensor gold pick-ups in it.there are "alot" of good-great pic-ups out there. but for what you are looking for lace sensors may be a good fit.i played the SCN's and liked them as well if not better than the lace sensors to add more beef to the tone. Good luck!
