This is a very sad day, I spent a lot of my time hanging out at that forum and it meant a lot to me, and now it's gone

I was GoldenGopher there, any other posters at speeding arrow please keep in touch with any kind of updates, I know this will get resolved, well at least the forum

This is dismaying! I discovered the archive late and only got a handful of shows, and then I heard about speedingarrow and slowly but steadily dl'ed a dozen shows or so and now it's gone. I only recently got an mp3 player as well so it was perfect.
I have never been about 'getting my hands on everything' and never really understood my friends dl'ing whole discographies from bands. I like to live with a disc for a bit before I go on to the next thing. That mindset burned me, I guess, but I will miss reading a review or forum discussion about a certain show or year and then going out to get it.

Ive always been partial to the reviews from the Archive anyway. I had grown fond of speeding arrow as of late. i recently grabbed ahold of some shows i meant to dl awhile ago, nice clean, crisp sbd's i might add.

what a shame. I usually will purchase Dicks picks from used record shops, but thats as far as i go with commercial releases. VIVA LA TORRENT!

you download a client and share. i have been on for 5 years and have picked up all kinds of shows. there are forums and chat for help (if you need) with the client and downloading or just to hang a little.
the forums allow for iso (in search of's) and some of us have quite a collection to share. there are rules but, as of yet, no one has shut furthunet down. it is about legal lossless trading.

When I go to that site it mentions downloading software which is not an option to me at work.
Funny thing too, as soon as I knew speedingarrow was gone I went to nugs to get the may 77 shows and while the site is fine, the IT management where I work has denied access to the 'free stash' concerts themselves.

I tried to log onto speedingarrow earlier and GAH! (yes, I've been living in a cave called tax season for the last three months) Came here and heard the sad news...

cuznt makes a great point, furthernet is a great resource and I don't see it mentioned as much as speedingarrow or archive.org are. Been on since spring 03 and owe many of my great bootlegs of the Dead, CSN, Phish, the Dead, Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young and the Dead to furthernet.


Sure work might block it, but you can always que shows up and let it run on your home pc at night, whenever.

I encourage people to look into this. The more people are involved the better the selection and availablity of shows will be!
