A few days after Watkins Glen I saw The Band open for the Dead at Roosevelt Stadium...7/31/73-8/1/73...Both really great shows...Both nites you could see Phil off to the side of the stage dancing his ass off during The Band set...Moondog Matinee-Love the version of Mystery Train...I think what makes The Last Waltz so fantastic(besides the music) is the drection by Martin Scorsece.

I'm not so much of a solo Clapton fan but a Cream, Clapton fan. If you read any Clapton bio you will see that The Band actually ruined his "Godliness".

one of the gratest, The Weight with The Staple Singers, Dylan doing Forever Young and Baby Let Me Follow You Down, Dr. John doing Such A Night and of corse Neil Young singing helpless with a giant coke buger that was actually digitaly removed for the DVD.

By the way did anyone see the NBA allstar game halftime show? Dr.John did Iko Iko (thats right no damn A). it was fantastic

1) I honestly cant believe how long I wrote the band off before I actually found out how much I liked them, I mean, I liked their stuff I heard on the radio, but then I heard Big Pink and was hooked.

2) I think the live album everyone is talking about is the Band/Dylan album "Before the Flood", which makes you wonder why they ever stopped playing together. Robbie's guitar on Watchtower rivals Hendrix, IMO

i've got rock of ages and dylan is most certainly on it, he could be on the remastered edition only though
too be fair he sounds like trash on the few tunes he sings on

2001 saw the release of a substantially revised and expanded edition of the album (rock of ages), including ten additional songs from the same concert series (four of which featured performances by surprise "guest star" Bob Dylan).

Thanks O I was talking about the reissued Rock of Ages. The original did not have Dylan on it.

He always says that but I think he just needs someone to kick him in the ass. He made Layla after Big Pink and the Delaney & Bonnie experience and once Duane got involved he smoked.
I read a story in the paper that Robbie is heading over to the UK to make an album with Clapton. Think it will be either all or nothing from those two.

Somebody had said that 'Rock of Ages' had Dylan on it, and I (not having the remastered ed.) said "No, thats Before the Flood" (Which I recommend to any Band/Dylan fan.)

Its great news that Levon Helms is playing at Mountain JAm. Has anyone else heard rumors about this being the venue for a surprise Dead reunion??
I heard this from a few older Heads(40's-50's) and they seen really excited.

i have it, just brought it to college to show my friends and sadly they were not as enthusiastic about it me. I completely agree though, i mean, fuckin Muddy Waters, Joni Mitchell, Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Bob Dylan and so many others its just a freakin incredible line up.

I do have one question about this movie and i don't know if it was asked yet. I heard a rumor that Neil Young had a ball of cocaine up his nose and they had to black out a portion of his nose, i re-watched that part and kinda saw it, but maybe i was wrong, i dont know. but anyone else hear this or know anything about it??????
