My bad, my eyes skipped over the non jam band part. I was suprised no one was saying Phil and Friends, haha. Here's my new list

1. Taj Mahal
2. Red Hot Chilis
3. Ben Harper
4. Bobby McFerrin
5. Tenacious D

a lot of these bands gettin posted are pretty damn jammy if not actually jam bands such as drive-by truckers ,my morning jacket, mars volta, ben harper, hot tuna, bela fleck and the flecktones, wilco, ocms, avett bros....

I am guessing by saying non-jam band, youre meaning no five minute guitar and key solos lol, but I could be wrong...
but my favorite would be Beck.
hopefully he fits the description?

I might classify Bela & the 'Tones as a jam band, eventhough their lineup is non-traditional. Here are MY faves (in no particular order):

2. John Mayer (I just got turned onto him within the past few months)

why does Steve James ring a bell?... I think I have a CD of his somewhere... and I wanna say Norton Buffalo plays on it?does that sound right? I'll tell Brad you said hi... he's actually the GBB's backup drummer (because of his main gig) but I see him once in awhile and sometimes comes to RR gigs.
