We listened to the soundcheck last night at practice. It had a ton of energy. Then there was a sick mountain jam. Was that The Allmans and Dead on stage, or just some from each group? I definitely hear Dickey in there. Duane was dead already :(

For the soundcheck night, ABB did not play. The Dead started around dusk, so late July around 7:30pm. They played about 2 hours. The Soundcheck Jam was recorded that night, on So Many Roads, disc 2.
On Saturday, ABB came on and did their show last, and then the Jam of all the groups happened. Mountain Jam was played.
So, I think you listened to the Saturday scheduled show and not the Soundcheck.

imho i find 6-10-73 to be very overrated. sure its a hell of a long show with just about everything, but the sound is very thin, the playing is sloppy(especially for '73), and the group synergy is lacking
i think they peaked in may(5-26-73)and spent the summer regrouping until the fall
