To be realistic, for dozens and dozens of '65-67 (and even some 68-70 shows), no setlists survive. Tunes such as Rider or Cold Rain that were known to have been commonly played both then and also frequently in later years were probably played far more than what is recorded.

Now that list makes sense...Interesting that the majority of the songs Weir is the lead singer.

The less Jerry sings, the more Jerry plays! I can get behind that philosophy.

I interpet it as meaning the opposite: Jerry singing the majority of different songs and having a lot more different tunes in his rotation at any given time, thus very few of his were played anywhere near as often as Bob's most frequently played tunes.

Bingo! As I do the Bobby thing in my bands I've found his tunes to be considerably more limited than I ever imagined. In fact, it's downright surprising. When I went thru the list I was in shock at the dis-proportionate number of tunes he played compared to Jerry.

I coudn't agree more. Jerry and Hunter we're just so much more prolific in their songwriting. Plus, you throw in all the Dylan songs, standards, etc. Jerry just had so many more songs to choose from to sing. I find the same thing in my band. It seems we always do a lot of the same Bobby tunes, and stretch a little more on the Jerry tunes
