I think I've heard a story sorta like this before. Weir and Jimmy were jamming together at montery pop backstage. He invited him to come sit in with the boys. Jimmy didn't show becuase he was the next band to play or something like that and later in 69 (I think) jimmy came to a show with guitar in hand ready to sit in. The boys were so gone on lsd they took before the show that they totally forgot that he was there until after they finished their second set. they went to find him and he was gone. Atleast I think that is the story I heard years ago.

In my version Jimi fails to show and the next night he shows up.The boys tell him to wait till there is break to jam and they just jam the night away.Who knows?Sometimes what you think would be cool,aint that great.For years I heard of this tape of Jaco P.jamming w/Jimmy Page.When I finally got a copy I was real let down.Page sucked that night and its real funny when Jaco repeatedly calls Page "The Maestro".

Jimi is the man. I don't think there will ever be a guitar player again that is as original, inventive, and influential as Hendrix was. He's influenced almost every person who's ever picked up a guitar.

Jimi changed guitar playing more than anyone else.

the song Machine Gun are unbelievable.....more sounds and noises in one song than anything else I can imagine....

With you on that Pistol. Machine Gun is the baddest guitar song of all time.

Yeah, I've been listening to the original Band of Gypsys recording recently as well, and the Machine Gun is just amazing. Jimi really paints a picture with his music. It's very visual.

The first minute or so of "Power to Love" are also amazing. the song just starts off with a bang.

lets not forget earth blues...that song always makes me all warm and fuzzy inside

The hendrix estate should get 40% of every fender strat sold. Becuase I would say that atleast 60 percent of all strats are bought becuase jimi played one.
