one of my favorite classical guys, there are some other guys [Andrés segovia and Fernando Sor] but this guy jumps to my mind. I would study to classical guitar all the time man, over and over and then in my car I would listen to the same stuff on the way to school, I had it on a cassette, the good old 1980s...

Boy, there is soooo much excellent instrumental music out there it's hard to know where to start. Sticking to a guitar-centric vein, check out some of the chord melody style jazzers, like Joe Pass, Tal farlow, Barney Kessel, Tuck Andress. Obviously, Wes Montgomery was THE man, and as already mentioned, Grant Green. Sonny Sharock was another beast of jazz guitar.

You should also check out music by Roy Buchanan, Danny Gatton ( they didn't call him "the Humbler" for nothing ), and Johnny A. And what about instrumental surf music, by say the Ventures, or Los Straitjackets? Tons of great stuff out there!
