HA!! Thanks for putting things into perspective. I remember being bummed out that I only got to see them from '87 on and missed all the shows before that.

Although I would have liked to see other bands, The dead did not have a good outing that day.

2-27-69 or maybe 6-10-76. Anything from '73 or '77.

If I could turn the clock back I would go back to 8-7-82 Alpine Valley, my first show, and see the 300+ shows I saw all over again ... wouldn't change a thing, except missing the Greek July of 84, got hung up after Alpine and didn't make the drive out west .... "cops come by and busted me ....."

I'm 16 so I never even got to see the Dead, shit I was only 4 when Jerry died so I'd see ANY show, even the worst of the worst.

Thinking about it again... I just received DP 10 (12/29/77) and thought, if only I could have been there! (I was 12 at the time and hadn't heard about them yet, but that would have been an excellent start). Now that was truly one of the magical nights. The energy must have been incredible, especially Jerry did so many things that were just amazing, but all of them were on top. And, I used to not like Donna Jean very much until now (all I had heard of her were more or less some shows from the '73-'74 period). But I changed my mind. This one, along with DP 15 which arrived at the same time, made me almost fall in love with her... 1977 sure was a good year for the Dead.
