just heard another tennessee jed reference on espn

I have a memory of Bill Walton joining in on Drums at a show I saw. The only show I could think of that that may have been possible is a New Year's show I went to in S.F (not Oakland) in the early to mid eighties, any one able to verify this?

during the red sox game last week one guy said"well you can feel good about hood" in reference to a hood blimp, or so someone tells me. hopefully a phish reference?

I ran into Bill at the Jerry Tribute show at The Greek.

Bill sat in with Mickey and Hazma El Din before everyone took stage. I guess this was quite significant since he was in Egypt.....

Being that it's a New England milk company you are probably right, but had it been said elsewhere in the country I'd say it would probably be a Phish reference. I'm pretty sure Harry Hood is a reference to that milk company.

And not to rehash a discussion done too many times here, but Phish, while not as great as the dead, are certainly no hacks.

dude, just because you dont like phish doesnt mean you have to attack them. i would like to see you write or play anything better than trey and co. not only young wanna be hippies like phish, they're a respectable band, focus your hate elsewhere, like panic at the disco

lets take it easy on phish......from there early days of 89-93 and then 94-96 and then the funk from the fall tour 97-2000.

Nothing for nothing but they were a very tight band for a very long time. Completly different band then the dead and as musical talent i am not saying phish overall were better musicians but.....jon fishman is one of the best drummers around, he is a machine. He is subltle and has such a light touch and sometimes you actually have to work to hear him, the guy knew about dynamics and playing TOGETHER as a group. Page can rip the keys, gordon is one of the best bassist on the scene hands down and trey is a guitar god, (i dont care what anyone says he is a genius when it comes to improvisation). Then the chemistry that those four had on stage was just amazing. I remember seeing shows where those guys were so locked in that they did not even have to look at each other or talk through a mic linked to evryone on stage like phil does now to change jams. Its like the felt the build up, spoke telepathically to each other and blew minds. Thats what phish was all about.

My favorite band is the dead and always will be but phish is a close second and i am not a college frat kid.

alright, i was a bit hard on Phish, it was just the later years that wore on me. Was at Coventry for their farewell show and it really was a huge disapointment, musically as well the fact that after the last note, each member of the band sprinted off the stage to get on their own individual, really nice buses to drive the hell out of there immediatly and leave the rest of us to fend for ourselves. Worst organized concert ever, took people nearly 2 days to get out of there, place was a mess. Anyway, earlier on, they did rock, i was just soured a bit by them musically towards the end as well as the scene surrounding them.

i love how any mention of phish on this forum turns into a bash phish free for all
