When it doesn't fit anywhere else

That's not a music profile. It's just a regular MySpace profile. Go to the Music section and click "artist signup". This will let you post songs on your page like other bands do (instead of with the Snocap add on player that's on there now), and your name will appear anytime someone searches for Half Step in the Music section. Currently, it's not listed because it's just a regular profile

yeah.. i di not know when you signed up there was a seperate thing, and it is too late to fix
kind of like the ranch hands that would come out to see us. "No sir... thats TWO step.."

I would just start a new profile in the music section. If you want the same address, delete your current account first to make the address available again.

Man, a friend of mine, (a close friend, the one who turned me on to the Dead) just told me that Phil is playing at the Glens Falls Civic Center in October. . . Time to buy tickets!

I had a similar problem with my band (Paradise Waits).. I researched the name and found another group had performed for a short time with that name but was no longer together... I actually contacted a member (who ended up playing drums with us once) and got his permission to use the name

bottom line... spend the money and make it legal

:? Okay.. This is the last time we're going to address this matter. Right out of the gate, every email we received accused us of "thievery, stealing the name, bad karma, not being cool...etc. etc! The emails accused us of having prior knowledge of the Glens Falls band known as Halfstep. False! A former member of our band HalfStep, was responsible for booking gigs as well as maintaining the website. If any correspondence was done with you guys or the dude who books acts for the Harvest Fest that was mentioned in one email when we were allegedly made aware of the conflict in name, it was never brought to my attention! I took over band management in December '06! Show me one email with my name on it that states I knew about your band??? Ain't gonna happen!

In the spirit of the scene, we gladly would like to resolve this matter by having you guys jam on a few tunes, perhaps open up the evening etc. Instead of attacking us with FALSE accusations.

We'll make it clear with Hotshots in Glens Falls that the band playing on Oct. 20th is a Grateful Dead coverband from NYC, not the original Glens Falls based band Halfstep. We'll even bill it under another name, such as The Band Formerly Known as HalfStep... Or the Shotgun Ragtime Band? Anybody trademark that one yet? (If so, please hold off on silly accusatory e-mails, this is a one time thing.)

We're not out to steal anyones thunder, we're just trying to keep the scene going! Sincerly, HalfStep NYC.

very big of you Scott!.. that's the spirit

ladies and gents.. the Shotgun Ragtime Band

lol

Jerry is shaking his finger at those who sent nasty emails... I can't imagine a group of deadheads conspiring... "hey let's steal that band's name!"... grow up and BE KIND... WWJD (what would Jerry do)

and if anyone snags my band's name I will spank them with my leather guitar strap and then email them and tell them that I am very angry

Good Lord, alright, scratch the Shotgun Ragtime Band. We will bill ourselves as " A Bunch of Dudes who Love The Grateful Dead and Work very Hard to Not Suck!" or something like that.

Hey boukinator,

Just checked out your myspace page. Very cool. What's your capacity in the band?

like I told you in the e-mail. i do not want to have it so you don't perform. dude by all means. I would like to hear a band afterward. We chose to go on and not perform as a grateful dead cover band anymore. too many people do it. A few sings intermingled with originals, but I do not want to be a cover band.
One of you claims to be from chestertown. Um our bass player hails from chestertown. I find it hard to believe that he has never heard of halfstep even before I was in the band they made the paper. ( i was performing with riff raff junction at the time and knew well of halfstep.... those guys sucked and got all the nice gigs..... well until I joined then it was wh000 h00 we get all the gigs. ) anyway. It is the same band.. If someone was managing you and was fucking up... then I would not know that. But his reply then was down right rude to me. i think "We'll be there with bells on, and we're gonna rock the joint with or without you and your dozen or so ignorant friends who make blind threats! " is very rude. I never called you ignorant.
i would hope you can relate to the fact that we worked very hard to succeed. we have performed in NYC New Jersey... im still not sure about that one... philadelphia pittsburg key west @ barefoot bobs... (i miss that place to the center of my soul... ) to be fair also i sent you an e-mail of which you never responded to. I worked my ass of nearly losing my life to make my band suceed.

It had nothing to do with you guys at all. we just want our name. we got no answer to my e-mail to you guys... sometimes you have to just put it out there.

Like i said, I am looking forward to leaving phil and hearing some good music. I can walk home... I have got to peform @ a lot of festivals this summer. It is already bonus. It is not about my band playing and you not. no no no.... in fact it is about an effin party to me for sure. We just do not believe it is right to perform here and call yourselves halfstep.

Our name before starting to gig as PW was "Blow Away" - can you beat that as a godawful GD tribute name!! Jim thought of both those names actually... do you know what he's up to lately? Who's he playing with these days? My wife and baby and I are taking a road trip to Chicago to visit our P's and would like to meet up with Jim for a beer. PW or SM playing anywhere around Labor Day or thereafter?

I saw him with Jack Straw a few weeks ago... seemed well... you can find him on myspace... and that would also be the place to find out about upcoming PW and SM gigs... what do you play?... if you make it out to a PW show we'll have ya up for a couple!
